About Northern Schools Early Years
The Northern Schools Early Years (NSEY) is a Early Years Management group that supports 18 Early Childhood services, 16 of which are co-located on school sites. We are proud to have been announced as winners in the 2023 Department of Education’s Victorian Early Years Awards for Continuity of Learning for our Kindergarten to grade 6 model and Improving Access and Participation in Early Learning .
Our purpose is to “Love a Life of Learning and Living,” and we aim to set the highest standard of early years education in partnership with local schools and the community. We are committed to maximising outcomes for children in the early years, encouraging opportunities for families to be involved in their child’s early education and promoting professional career support, development and well-being for our educators.
The Opportunity
Experienced Early Childhood Education Area Manager with multi-site management to provide leadership and support to a number of early years services, to empower our teams to reach their full potential and ensure our services operate in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations, Act, National Quality Standards and all NSEY policies and other regulatory requirements.
The role requires excellent leadership skills, diplomacy, equity, strong communication skills and a commitment to the provision of excellence in quality early childhood education and care that support children and families and educators to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in leadership and/or management.
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
- A commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning and development.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and the Early Years Framework.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Child Safe Standards
- Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to facilitate good working relationships with the educators, children their families and all departments through clear communication and a willingness to work towards positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain contacts with a broad range of people and community organisations.
- Proven adaptability and flexibility to changing work situations, priorities, and deadlines.
