About Northern Schools Early Years

The Northern Schools Early Years (NSEY) is a Years Management group that supports 19 Early Childhood services, 17 of which are co-located on school sites. We are proud to have been previous winners in the Department of Education’s Victorian Early Years Awards for Improving Access and Participation in Early Learning and the Ministers Award for our Kindergarten to Grade 6 (K-6) model “Continuing of Learning”  which continues to be our focus working in partnership with our schools and communities.

Our purpose is to “Love a Life of Learning and Living,” and we aim to set the highest standard of early years education in partnership with local schools and the community. We are committed to maximising outcomes for children in the early years, encouraging opportunities for families to be involved in their child’s early education and promoting professional career support, development and well-being for our educators. 

 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time Accounts Officer for  30 hour per week. This position can work over 4 or 5 days with flexible working hours that may suit school hours. The candidate must be an experienced accounts officer responsible for accounts payable and receivable, payroll. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of financial acumen, organisation and communication skills. The position will report to the Finance Manager and be required to carry out the following:

  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • Issuing invoices and statements
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including suppliers, early years staff, Department of Education
  • End-of-month processing
  • Payroll
  • General administration tasks as required

 

 

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will be required to demonstrate ability in the following areas:

  • Accounts payable and receivable, payroll duties
  • Proficient in using Office 365 and MYOB, ELMO or similar Payroll and HR software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills
